Over the sea lies Middle-earth by Hemhet Over the sea lies Middle-earth by Hemhet
Finwe, Galadriel and Fingon on the sore.
There is in The Silmarillion that „Galadriel, the only woman of the Noldor to stand that day tall and valiant among the contending princes, was eager to be gone. No oaths she swore, but the words of Feanor concerning Middle-earth had kindled in her heart, for she yearned to see the wide unguarded lands and to rule there a realm at her own will. Of like mind with Galadriel was Fingon Fingolfin's son, being moved also by Feanor’s words” (J.R.R. Tolkien "The Silmarillion")
I think not only Feanor’s words moved them. I’m sure that Finwe had told many stories about the lands over the sea.

Cute but also a bit sad. Reminds me of the ones left behind (Elwe). Finwe doesn't even make a good dad but also a good grampa.
Very nice scene. Sadly these scenes are rare in the Silmarillion or similar books that deal with the topic.

Thanks for the comment, I'm happy that you like it.
I think Finwe told a lot of stories to his children and grandchildren about the lands beyond the sea, and about the friends who left behind

Rememebr how it's written that Galadriel is like minded with Fingon? She may have the Vanyarin / Telerin looks, but she's definitely a Noldo in her mind. Though later her other qualitites did also show up.

I agree, there must have been more than Feanor's words to make her want to leave for Middle Earth.

Although you didn't draw her face, young Artanis is adorable.

Adorable, but also heart stirring. I love how you always find and bring out these "hidden" moments in Tolkien's legendarium.

Thank you for your kind words! :)
I like the untold stories in the books of Tolkien.
I want an another picture in this theme with the title "Over the sea lies Valinor". I hope I will have soon enough time to make it.
